It's a classic

betrayal of the bear by man.  I like to think the way this all went down was like thus:

Bear ends up in some dudes tree.  Police and Firemen show up.  Some kid suggests using his trampoline to a policeman.  The policeman tells the kid that it's a stupid idea.  One hour later the aforementioned policeman suggests using the trampoline.
